New Years Resolutions for Entrepreneurs

Jan 2 , 2015

We all know that a new start up is quite time consuming, and it takes not only a monetary investment, but a personal one as well. You not only need to invest money into it, but also your time and energy.

With the arrival of 2015, we’ve outlined 4 key new years resolutions that every entrepreneur should have to enjoy the New Year and be successful.

1.     Invest your time, not your sanity: It’s easy to get wrapped up in your start up. As an entrepreneur you are already a high achiever and probably invest a lot of yourself into what you’re doing. The key is to set aside time for yourself. Make time for family, friends and you! Don’t sacrifice your sanity for what you’re trying to accomplish. It is possible to reach your goals without becoming a complete ball of stress!

2.     Be open to new ideas: Allow yourself to be more receptive to the ideas of others. It’s no surprise that you may need help from others on your journey to success. Having said that, you may have to accept ideas or strategies that you may not like. It’s amazing what a little bit of compromising can do!

3.     Don’t be afraid of failure: Failure is a part of the journey. More importantly, it’s crucial to the learning process. Making mistakes is the best way to learn, because everyone knows not to make the same mistake twice! Overcoming failure is part of taking risks, and taking risks is part of being an entrepreneur.

4.     Start Small but Dream Big: Don’t start off too big. It’s important to understand the difference between where you want to be and where you are. The difference is how you get there. It’s ok to have a big dream, that’s what keeps you going! Just know to start off with small achievable steps!

2015 is a new book in your series. Approach it with enthusiasm and wonder!
